One of the main goals of Open Door is to love others, and in loving others, we try to offer assistance to meet physical and spiritual needs beyond our church walls.
There are several outreach opportunities here.
Food Service Ministry-monthly
Serves over 30 local families with boxes of food each month. Distribution is every 3rd Saturday of the month at 8:00 am.
VBS-one week each summer
Our goal is to minister to children, create outreach to the surrounding communities, and to create evangelism opportunities. We want the children to know they are deeply loved and treasured by our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus. This is supported by a creative theme of Bible Study, activities, worship, and even time for some tasty snacks. VBS is a special event that creates memories that help lock Bible truths in a child’s heart and mind for a lifetime.
Back to School Clothes Exchange-August
Each August we host a Back to School clothes exchange open to everyone in our community. In the weeks prior to this event, new and gently used clothing donations are collected from our members and those outside ODC. Clothing is sorted and available on a first-come first-served basis on a designated Saturday in August. The goal is to help families with back-to-school expenses, Adult clothing is available as well.
Operation Christmas Child-Fall/Winter
In the fall of the year members fill shoeboxes with small items to be distributed to children all over the globe that may not have any other Christmas experience. Boxes are collected and sent to distribution centers affiliated with Samaritan’s Purse.
