And say, “Save us, O God of our salvation; Gather us together, and deliver us from the Gentiles, to give thanks to Your holy name, to triumph in Your praise.”—1 Chronicles 16:35
In this verse, the Gentiles were heathens, those who did not believe in the one true God who David worshiped and wrote about. Believers have always needed hope and strength to praise the Lord continually.
As Christians today, we need to gather together and bond as one people. “Gentiles” are now governments who are changing laws and making restrictions regarding our religious freedoms. We see churches closing and society trying to force Christians to abandon the values on which the Founding Fathers of our great nation based this country.
Let us raise our hands and pray! With hope and faith, we must do what we can to prevent our world from returning to the dark ages by submitting to God and exalting Him as Lord and Savior in our lives. He is and forever will be the God of our salvation!
During this time of celebration, let us extend a hand of invitation to someone outside our immediate families. Let us offer a warm meal, perhaps in a family atmosphere. We can give others hope by encouraging them and assuring them that they have a purpose and are loved. Show them God’s love by sharing!
